In the dying moments, pure elation erupted for Chelsea and interim manager Calum McFarlane as Enzo Fernández bundled in a dramatic equaliser. The goal left Pep Guardiola ranting in frustration and gifted the stand-in Chelsea manager a unforgettable moment. On paper, Guardiola versus McFarlane represented the Premier League's most pronounced managerial mismatch in class, making the recollection of Fernández's pivotal intervention one to warm the 40-year-old for years to come.

A Stark Contrast in Experience

On the City bench stood the era's defining coach, a man with 40 trophies for elite clubs Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, taking charge of his 1,012th match. In the opposite technical area, was a former coach at lower-league sides Croydon and Whyteleafe, who had worked in City's own academy and arrived to make his first-team debut after being seconded from his regular role guiding Chelsea's youth teams.
