A Pair of Arrests Following Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

This incident caused the temporary shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
